Covering Jamal Khashoggi's murder was one of the most disturbing things I've worked on. Hearing Trump say he was "extremely controversial" and people "didn't like him" is chilling. Hard to take any other way than he thinks there is moral ambiguity in the murder of a journalist.

Republicans control every branch in Washington.

Now, Trump is openly giddy about using the shutdown to slash and burn federal resources that working Americans count on.

His shutdown, and firings, will hurt people in every part of this country.

I know we all want to help, but how about we help by holding insurance companies accountable instead of crowd sourcing relief and rebuilding. I get immediate needs, and I'm not advocating that neighbors shouldn't help neighbors. But these insurance companies have profited billions from Americans.

It’s going to be really interesting to see how the insurance companies deal with the massive amounts of claims they will have. They will be dealing with multimillion dollar claims by people who can afford to sue them. Some CEOs might have to give their bonuses back.

I know I'm not the only one who feels the deep disparity between the man we mourn today and the man that is to occupy the same office. It sickens me to the core.

Folk icon Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary passed away yesterday. Some of my earliest musical memories and those of my kids are thanks to Yarrow and PP&M. He is also depicted in “A Complete Unknown” which I highly recommend as he was part of the Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie legacy of folk music

One thing to be thankful for is that Trump is 30+ years older than Hitler when he became Chancellor. Of course, this does not eliminate the potential that Trump is Von Hindenburg and whoever he anoints becomes Hitler, but I’m reaching for short-term positives😂

Q: Can you assure the world that as you try to get control of areas like Greenland or Panama you are not gonna use military or economic coercion?

TRUMP: No. I can't assure you. I'm not going to commit to that. It might be that you'll have to do something.

Why are Trump & Musk so fixated on Greenland?

It’s not just about its strategic location—it’s the minerals. As Greenland’s ice melts (climate change) it’s exposing cobalt, lithium & copper (key for EV batteries).Their interest looks less like America first & more like exploiting crisis for profit.
