@briankoppelman.bsky.social Have you heard Will Stewart's new album "Moon Winx"? Rawness of Lydia Loveless and slice of life skills of Isbell.

What Nico and new owners miss in the Mavs culture discussion is the fans. If you are going to preach culture but have zero respect for the fan base then you don't understand how the culture of a quality pro franchise works.

This is the first trade I can recall where 2-3 days later, I *literally* cannot believe it happened. Like, I see Luka in a Lakers uniform and wonder if I am in some kind of dream state. The Mavericks really did that?

It’s incredibly challenging when Christians on various sides think the other side is delusional, blind, trapped, etc.

How do we know who is being faithful to God?

The litmus test I believe is:

Cruciform love.
Living the Beatitudes.
The Sermon on the Mount.

That’s how we know.

On January 6, 2021. My divorced wife left the house for good; I ended up in the emergency room due to a can opener mishap; and our capital was attacked by its own citizens. None of those things should have happened. There was a lot of hurt that day.

According to Barron’s, Elon Musk’s wealth increased by almost $200 billion between November 5 and December 20. That means he could give $250,000 to every homeless person in the US and still be as rich as he was on November 5.
WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. saw an 18.1% increase in homelessness this year, with more than 770,000 people counted as homeless.

Ace Flagg?? Great story about the "forgotten twin."

Who is Ace Flagg? Glad you asked.
Ace Flagg has almost always followed his famous twin. Now, he’s making his own way and doing it with a grin.

The year-end lists of best TV and movies are all interesting & wonderful, but the fact that they barely overlap and often feature things the public hasn’t heard of again shows the mixed blessings of the many rivulets of streaming: There’s something for everyone, but we don’t share a common culture.

In case you didn't know, librarians are educated professionals with a master's degree and don't just willy nilly buy any old books for their libraries.
