I am not sure where this leaves me with my dogma.

Ah, I've already got gas which is much cheaper for me. I can absolutely see a resistance heater being waaay more costly to run. But if I'm really paying less than $300 / year for gas, I wonder if there's any payback? If it's close, I'd cheerfully do it to decrease carbon. I'd love to see the number.

Oh, me too for water heaters. Per the sticker on my newish gas water heater, it's costing me $230.00 year. That doesn't seem like much to me. Is there a payback for a heat pump? Is the carbon load reduction enough to balance out the carbon cost of the machinery? I ask this with no agenda.

Ah, good!
I get that accidents can happen in extreme weather for sure.

OK, i was going to ask whether you found it and whether it might be worth it to buy a metal detector.

But forget that! What's the deal with the body? Hopefully they found it before loved ones became aware?

We've got a few people doing that over here too. Do they really think the robot arm can reach over the snow bank and retrieve it from the narrow sidewalk valley?

"Also, if your birth year ends in an odd number you have to drive the garbage trucks yourself."

Gladly! I've been waiting my whole life to get my hands on a set of giant robot arms.

Fortunately I haven't had much trash this week so mine is still frozen to the ground in my back yard. I did pry up the cover the other day so that I could put new trash in it. I was bemused by my neighbors who had theirs balanced on top of the roadside snow banks. Live in hope, Elmhurstians.

Same - but for powdered dishwasher soap. 😃

And we do appreciate you for it :-)
Hopefully the synergies and efficiencies from the merger will eventually be able to support one.

This is very much like when @oceanstatemedia.bsky.social 's @radiostoryteller.bsky.social gives us the weather report from Cranston and Woonsocket.

(I really wish they would bring back a discussion with an actual meteorologist - Luis is at his best when he's interviewing ppl).
