Hi everyone!

Lots of things are thrown at us right now.

The truth is, migration is life.

We will stay connected, look after each other and spread solidarity and love, to build a society that protects us all.

My heart is full today 💜 as I join 200+ brave, thoughtful & determined women in #Scotland to challenge far right claims that their divisive and racist solutions are necessary to protect women & girls

✍🏽 “We believe in a society where all women are safe, supported and free from abuse”
Photo of a number of prominent Scottish women and the text "Women Against the Far Right - Scotland' 200+ prominent women and women's organisations across Scotland have signed the open letter rejecting the far right's claims to protect women & girls & condemning the exploitation of violence against women to fuel hate and division."

#Justice ✊🏽 finally for Allan Marshall's family, and a reminder that #humanrights still matter - make a difference - in holding states to account for unlawful and harmful abuses of power ⚖️

⚖️ In a landmark admission, the Scottish Prison Service has admitted breaching human rights law by causing Allan Marshall’s death through unlawful restraint at HMP Edinburgh in 2015.

Let me check I’ve got this right. Someone calling for entirely innocent foreign-born people to be burned alive at a time of serious social unrest is a free speech champion who must be feted. And some calling them & their hideous promoters in politics & media racist is a menace who must be silenced.

We’re representing a family fighting for their home and way of life.

⚖️ This is the first civil court case to test how Scotland’s new UNCRC law works in practice.

📜 It also relies on Article 8 of the ECHR - the right to respect for private and family life.

I see UK Lawyers for Israel popping up again today, so let me remind you of perhaps the noblest & most rational use of their boundless legal skills, namely their bid to prevent Scottish pro-Palestine activists from registering a Palestinian tartan with the official Register of Tartans, for charity

Martin Forde concluded Labour operates a hierarchy of racism, where anti-Black racism & Islamophobia are brushed aside.

Now we have a Prime Minister who mimicked Enoch Powell with “island of strangers” & suspended the UK’s first Black woman MP twice.

It’s institutional racism.
