My degree is an ecology and evolutionary biology, but I’m also interested in all life sciences as well as space-related fields.

Today, I made the decision to return to volunteering for schools. I had done this for years when my kids were small. Now that I'm in LA, it makes sense to use what strengths I have (science, writing, art) to help our youth get where they need to be, especially if they have special needs.

I kind of saw this being telegraphed for a while, which is one reason I did not want to invest a lot here and in some ways you have to go with the devil you know, so I stuck with threads because it helps me with my community. I still hate to see this.

The disdain and open hostility with which @jay.bsky.team & the devs treat their user base is the same attitude that Republican reps treat their constituents with at town halls. Same exact "How DARE you question ME, you ungrateful peon?" energy. Shameful and embarrassing.

Saw a plant shaking, looked up, and Perky the Squirrel popped out of this bush, like a gopher with a lime or a green persimmon in his mouth! 🐿️🍋‍🟩Then he proceeded to “bury” the lime inside the bush. Perky, I don’t think that’s how it works. Points for creativity though.
