I don't think enough people are aware that there is a very large portion of these non denominational churches focused on the return of Jesus. The focus isn't about having your life in order for it though... it's almost a belief that we should want it to happen sooner, meaning harming planet is ok

Maybe it’s just me, but I’m a little perplexed about the AG talking about basic cheerleading squad sign-making skills and PTA organization as some well funded machine when this has been how we make our schools work with little money for decades

I wonder how much an impact it will be that so much of the country is stuck at home with time to see the news and see what is going on in Minneapolis with their own eyes.

Republicans: everyone must be able to carry any gun at all times,
up to and including high powered rifles, to protect themselves against tyranny

also Republicans, without batting an eye: carrying a gun is unquestionable justification for federal agents to shoot you dead in the street

Did I google whether there were penguins in Greenland because of this tweet? Yes. Was it the first search term to pop up when I got to "Are there penguins in" IT WAS. How many others of you did the same?
It’s Penguin Awareness Day which seems like a great excuse to post the greatest ever Wikipedia edit.

Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts.

Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

wasn't a woman almost arrested as the pipe bomber 3-5 days ago and the only reason she wasn't was because she had video of herself at home on a ring camera or a furbo?

The fact that all of these people probably voting for this bill don't even have voicemails turned on right now is so infuriating. The message is that the office is closed and to call back during office hours and then click... call ended.

One caller on NJ 101.5 FM said he was a 25 year R voter, stood in the booth intending to vote for Citarelli, and couldn't. Because SNAP loss affected him. The shutdown got him screwed up, and he said he couldn't do it. Voted Sherrill.

I think this repeated in a lot of booths.

The factional grifters will hate this, but the Mamdani-Spanberger-Sherrill axis actually suggests the outlines of a broad, emerging Dem coalition organized around both anti-Trump *and* affordability politics, not a party bitterly divided against itself.
These big wins will embolden Dems to take on Trump's lawbreaking and show there's a price for GOP enabling of him. Folks hate to hear this, but normal patterns are asserting themselves: Liberalism isn't dead, Rs are likely to lose in 2026, and Trump is really unpopular, not a magical exception.
