This is shameful and will do real harm to people like me whose lives have been changed for the better by these medications. This absolutely puts profits over patients. Apparently obesity is a public health epidemic until it comes to covering the first effective treatment for it in our lifetimes.
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, the state’s largest commercial health insurer, will stop covering a popular class of prescription drugs for weight loss, effective next Jan. 1, citing rapidly rising costs.

The move could affect tens of thousands of members who take GLP-1 medications.

Had eye doctor appointment today. Came to the point where I need to buy contacts. I demurre, fully planning on going to Costco. Woman looked me straight in the eye and said “I can beat Costco’s price.” And readers, she did. 🤣

Boomer parents will be casually talking to you about nothing of importance and then drop in a “by the way I’m having cataracts surgery tomorrow and your dad is having carpal tunnel surgery in a few weeks”

Just emotional (protest?) ordered an Easter hamper from Fortnum & Mason because honestly I enjoy international trade and easy access to quality British goods and the irony of me buying tea that my government just put a tarif on is not lost to me.

Hey folks.
This needs to be said.
Loudly.

Crawford's win in Wisconsin is a big deal.

Democracy beat bribery.

A Democrat won a heated electoral contest.

Public opinion was against Musk/DJT.

We are in the midst of a struggle, and it sure as hell isn't over.

I may not live in NJ right now, but it is, and will always be, my home. Exceptionally proud of @booker.senate.gov and Andy Kim today.

As a plus size wide calf rider new tall boots are a mildly terrifying prospect (especially if you last wore tall boots about 20 years ago) but I just impulse bought boots on sale from Dover and they might fit? Probably not. 🤣

Took the kits to the vet today for their checkup and rabies shot and the poor people after us were saying goodbye to their pup and it was so very sad it made me cry.

Sometimes I think about how I was in grade school & the school nurse came to our classroom once a week with a bottle of fluoride and we all had to suffer through swishing that hellish liquid until we were told we could stop and now idiots are just taking it out of drinking water.

I literally just got a “but her emails!” while arguing with a republican over this and yes, yes I do. So you agree this is on the same level? So there should be the same amount of outrage? Cool, cool.

Too many people think fascism looks like The Empire in Star Wars but it's usually pure Spaceballs
Everyone’s like “this can’t be fascism it’s too dumb” but they don’t understand that fascism is in fact almost always very dumb! Fascist dictators are cruel and stupid men. And it’s popular because many people are cruel and stupid!

This is exactly what I have been saying for a while now. At this point, it’s not left vs right that matters, but fighters vs non-fighters. The Dems, and the American people, need fighters.

Among the material devastation to everyday people, Senate Dems have now blown a hole in their ability to work with the House.

We had an agreed upon plan, House took immense risk, then Senate turned around midway and destroyed it w/ a fear-based, inexplicable abdication.

They own what happens next.

Chuck Schumer, the top Democrat in the Senate, just caved—again.

His support for the Republican CR plan isn’t leadership; it’s surrender. He’s not fighting for the American people. He’s propping up policies that will hurt us.
