What Cory Booker has done with his marathon speech is not just break a record.
He testified the will of the people.
He upheld the values of our democracy.
He called to the values many of us hold dear
AND he broke the record of a raging racist bigot while doing so.
All in a day’s work.

Sen. Booker just broke the record for the longest floor speech in Senate history—a record set by Strom Thurmond trying to block the Civil Rights Act. The irony ain’t lost on us. From fighting against justice to fighting for it. This is what courage & being on the right side of history looks like!

What’s most clear to me tonight is that this is just the beginning, that Americans across this country, no matter their title or party, are ready to be heard.

I believe that history will show we rose to meet this moment.

It’s important to know that a lot of productive activity is happening in person and offline, too.

Not all of it can be broadcast online, but we’ve had hundreds of people showing up to our trainings, mobilizations, and more.

Keep going. Tyranny is eroded by a sea of small acts. Everything matters.

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers.

This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.

Auschwitz took time.

Another wise woman...

"Accepting a pardon would only insult the Capitol police officers, rule of law and, of course, our nation," she said.

"I pleaded guilty because I was guilty, & accepting a pardon also would serve to contribute to their gaslighting and false narrative."

Sergeant Gonell @sergeantaqgo.bsky.social sent me this picture. This is his call log. Each call is an automated Dept of "Justice" notification saying "The defendant you testified against is being released from the dept of corrections."
Each defendant assaulted him.

Yesterday, Trump signed more executive orders on Inauguration Day than any President in history.

Every day this week, I'll be breaking down Trump's attacks on your rights and freedoms.

First up: immigration rights and birthright citizenship. (1/11)

~1,660 Afghans cleared by the U.S. Govt to resettle in the U.S. are having their flights canceled because Trump suspended the refugee program. Let me repeat—these are people already cleared through all security clearances.

And by the way, these aren't just Afghans, they're also Americans.

In the first day of his second presidency Trump has done nothing to make housing affordable, lower grocery prices, or cut prescription drug costs for seniors.

Instead he's diminished the country's place in the world, pardoned people who violently assaulted police officers…

Q: “Why did you pardon a man who drove a stun gun into the neck of a police officer?”

Trump deflects to murderers in LA who he says don’t get charged. (which is not true)

It's not revolutionary to say that everyone deserves
-a home,
-nutritious food,
-fair wages
-safety in their schools & neighborhoods,
-access to quality healthcare,
-human dignity & respect
That is not revolutionary. The fact that it has become so should radicalize you.

Make no mistake: The January 6 insurrection was a deadly attempted coup by right-wing extremists, emboldened by President Donald Trump, to stop the certification of electoral college votes cast in the 2020 presidential election. 🧵
