Judge Steven Meyer and his wife, Kimberly, were shot and wounded at their Indiana home after a man claiming to have found their dog opened fire through the door. Judge Meyer, age 66, recently announced plans to retire at the end of the year.

Three years ago today, a gunman armed with a semiautomatic Cobray pistol and high capacity magazines opened fire inside Star Ballroom Dance Studio in Monterey Park, CA. Eleven people were killed and nine others were wounded, most of them Asian-American.
