A huge wool map of Ireland, which took four years of knitting and crocheting to complete, is in search of a new home to go on public display.

Great news! There have been a good few positive corncrake stories in the past while, by my reckoning. One of my personal highlights of recent years was hearing calling corncrakes on Inishturk. It was magical! (And very loud). If we can do it for corncrakes, we can do it for other species too!

What a good idea!
Launching! 🚀

Today I'm launching a new service for landowners in Ireland who want to rewild their land. I hope this will be the start of a network that will promote rewilding in this country - the time is right!

As I predicted
Just saw some viral dublin urban cherry tomatoes in Limerick, a week later. Feels like when we finally got a Nandos

Looking forward to this inevitably going national (high culchie foot traffic at this bridge) and us locals getting all huffy and gatekeepy about tomatoes on bridges.
Did youse see that someone left a load of sliced cherry tomatoes on the bridge in Drumcondra and it is now classed as a religious site on Google maps (38 user reviews)

I, too, suffer from this affliction, which is why you should never EVER have me on your pub quiz team.
When faced with a prompt, eg, funniest book I’ve ever read I can’t remember any book I’ve ever read.

Also, shopping for clothes or bringing a toddler (or, in my case, toddlers) for a walk. Effectively zero exercise, but still exhausting.
Ever wondered why walking around museums is weirdly tiring? At normal speed our legs act like pendulums, swinging forward from the hip & saving us a huge amount of energy. In "museum shuffle" our muscles must do ALL the work of constant readjustment. So cake in the cafe is scientifically justified 🥳

Maneuvers Monday. A great egret is perched on a branch and is preening it’s wing. The bird is well hidden behind the wing.

Two surprising bits of information for me here: the little vow (fun and adorable) and PEOPLE GET ASKED FOR ID AT THEIR POLLING STATION?? I thought that was like "needing" your car's reg book at the NCT centre. I'm learning so much today.
yesterday when i voted i was so sleep deprived i walked out without my passport. my sister came with me and said to the gal manning the stand, do our matching faces count as proof that we’re siblings? then they made me say the little vow from the book that promised i am who i said i was. voted 🔥
