"There's no planB for my stupidity." -me, to my husband after eating ice cream knowing full well that the IBS hasn't suddenly disappeared.

Today was full of simple joys. Got creative. Laughed. Ate well. A reminder to us all that it's good to honor & share those, too. Even in this chaos. Joy is a reprieve for all of us, even when it's not our own.

I picked a hell of a time to try and make a living as a writer, but here we are!

My health has plummeted after trauma & physical setbacks (foot surgery + hip dysplasia + scar tissue issues from surgery) but today I walked 2 miles on the trail. A first in over 2 years. !!!! I am so proud. I'm hurting, too, but pride wins.

I have 2 cousins that I know. Yesterday I parted ways with the one I have contact with because she said trump is 'finally getting rid of corruption'. 😳 I now stand completely alone in my birth family. My humanity will rest well despite the profound loneliness.

Remember: If we allow ourselves to fall into fatalism, or wallow in disappointment, or become resigned to what is rather than what should be, we will lose the long game.

The greatest enemy of positive social change is cynicism about what can be changed.

There's a lot to be genuinely enraged about, but something that unnecessarily enrages me are the dumb quotes on Dove chocolates. I loathe them so much that I'm going to start telling folks my depression is caused by them.

We went to adult night at the fine art museum and had a lot fun. The Dave Chilhuly room remains my favorite.

This baddie is Valerie Thomas. She’s a data scientist who invented the illusion transmitter which led to the digital media formats that image processing systems used in the early years of NASA's Landsat program.

The only way we can defend our parks at this point is to protest.

Take to the streets and protest like your lives and loved ones depend on it.
Because they do

Everyone realizes they’re trying to shift the Overton Window, right?

They’re conditioning you to be accepting of the insane shit they’re doing now so you’ll accept the more insane shit they do later.
