Hiya y'all. This account’s still new and there is a human behind it. I’ll probably post about writing, dad jokes, and funny pictures. Hoping to connect with more writers (especially trans / trans-adjacent).

Into ‘80s slashers, urban fantasy, dogs, Star Trek, The Orville, and the Twilight Zone.
I read this a while back and remember enjoying it. Maybe not THE takeaway but I wish I had gotten into roller derby when younger.
Uncomfortable Labels, my memoir of growing up at the intersection of being trans and autistic, is available as a DRM-Free Audiobook.

Right now, it's the best way to purchase one of my books that directly supports me during "publisher nonesense season".

Gonna talk for a second about Nazis, Republicans, DrivethruRPG, that Star Wars game, and more importantly, my grandpa.

Bear with me, the edibles are just kicking in. Might be a little thread.

Reading Kimmy and enjoying it so far. It's got a nice 'punchy' writing style mixed with body horror.

If you're a Star Trek fan but have never watched the Orville, I would recommend it. It might alter your opinion of his writing. I thought it would just be "Family Guy in Space," but I ended up liking it better than a lot of recent actual Trek.

In a world of instant gratification, it can be extremely difficult to remember that some things simply take *time.*

This year has been a marathon so far. You don't make it 26 miles if you stop running at the first signs of exhaustion. Sprinters don't finish the race.

Pacing is crucial.

Seeking beta readers for Transportation, a 14K urban fantasy set in Dallas. Thanks. :)

Transfem shapeshifter Alex just wanted to help her brother propose, but a psychic overload, a possessed bus ride, and a hungry shadowdemon make her unstable magic the least of her problems.

Yeah... I LIKE dashes and try to use them where appropriate but yes, I use them. Semicolons? I have a fear of not using them properly, or that someone's going to think I made a typo I didn't catch.
I wish there was a secret formula for detecting AI writing at a glance but there just isn't one and spreading the idea that there is one just makes trouble for authors who like em dashes or hyphens or semicolons or whatever the tell is supposed to be this week.

To this day if I'm a passenger, I'll say something like: *after gesturing to the truck hauling dynamite, rebar, glass shards, and acid* "Can we get around the Final Destination Truck please?"
The log truck driver in Final Destination 2

If you want to write a book, make a film, paint, make music, or make any kind of art, just do it. Don’t worry about the what ifs or the doubts or the obstacles or the fears. Just write the book. Write the song. Make the movie.

Make art.
Have fun.

Writing trans books is resistance.

Recommending trans books is resistance.

Buying trans books is especially important. Trans authors need cash to flee, to stay safe, to survive.
