It's not just the money, either.

A venue manager told me that when they're setting up her show, she went out and introduced herself to the locals doing the work to thank them. He said that's the only act he's ever seen do that. You don't have to be a fan of her music to be a fan of Taylor Swift.

I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world.

Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO

Despite The Indian Citizenship Act of 1924, Trump officials are questioning birthright citizenship of Native Americans. According to a filing defending the Trump executive order, Indians on tribal lands aren’t “subject to the jurisdiction” of the U.S., therefore, not citizens.

I have people asking "What can we do to fight back?" And here is what I think the Number 1 thing is: Support independent media.

So what does that mean? Essentially, it means if you want independent media not beholden to Trump, you need to pay for it some way.

The sad reality is, the overwhelming majority of Americans don't know there's a voter for the Speaker going on, don't care & won't be able to name him after the vote. This is what happens in a country where civics education is no longer universal. Its absence lets darkness settle in over democracy.
