Idk why I'm feeling so spicy today. I'm still in the process of switching to shots for my estrogen so is it just my body getting used to a different way of ingesting hormones? But also my weekly injection was yesterday so if anything I feel like I should be around the bend not feeling nonstop pissy.

It's especially baffling when the "adult cartoons about depression" in question are:
· Rick & Morty, which… isn't really about depression at all?
· Bojack Horseman, which is almost universally considered a Good Show.

I really enjoy Smiling Friends which makes the existence of pretentious Smiling Friends fans all the more annoying/baffling to me. "After so many adult cartoons about DEPRESSION (there were like two) we have an adult cartoon about POSITIVITY (and it's literally just normal funny cartoon hijinks)"

Particularly when, even though Kamala deferred to "I just followed the law" with trans rights and planned to crack down on the border, the right still painted her as a radical socialist transing your kids. You don't think they'd do the same with Newsom, no matter how many Nazi podcasts he guests on?
jennygeist.bsky.social
It's weird that leftists were apparently a big enough voting bloc to cost Kamala the election, but were not a big enough voting bloc to cater to. If we wanna be all pragmatic and discuss strategies that win elections, maybe start by listening to the bloc you're claiming lost you the election?
jennygeist.bsky.social
"We have to move to the center! We have to ignore trans rights and be tough on the border! It's an election-winning strategy!"
(looks inside)
(it's the strategy that quite literally lost the 2024 election)

if you're concerned about information security, you should know Signal isn't actually secure. instead, try Mastodon, which is a website where you can be guaranteed no one will ever see what you post

I remember awhile back, there was an article where the headline was like, "People on Bluesky can't take a joke", and people were flaming it in the comments assuming it was defending people who were making light of racism/misogyny/etc.

No, it's about this

“10/7 was bad and everything that followed in aftermath was worse” is a perfectly moral and popular position. it’s more or less the American consensus on 9/11.

My statement on the two year anniversary of October 7, 2023.
“Two years ago today, Hamas carried out a horrific war crime, killing more than 1,100 Israelis and kidnapping 250 more. I mourn these lives and pray for the safe return of every hostage still held and for every family whose lives were torn apart by these atrocities.

In the aftermath of that day, Prime Minister Netanyahu and the Israeli government launched a genocidal war: adeath toll that now far exceeds 67,000; with the Israeli military bombing homes, hospitals, and schools into rubble. Every day in Gaza has become a place where grief itself has run out of language. I mourn these lives and pray for the families that have been shattered. Our government has been complicit through it all.

This must end. The occupation and apartheid must end. Peace must be pursued through diplomacy, not war crimes, and our government must act to end these atrocities and hold those responsible to account.

These last two years have demonstrated the very worst of humanity. We must answer it by modeling the very best: a relentless pursuit of our higher ideals and an unwavering commitment to universal human rights.”

I don't know if it's "left wing coded" but it's much more popular with women as opposed to your typical halftime show. I feel like the specific crowd that's mad about this is the type that never stopped listening to Christian rock who would only even know KPop from like, a niece being interested.
jennygeist.bsky.social
It's especially wild in the Bad Bunny case because non-English music is popular even in the US! KPop is literally one of the biggest genres of the past decade. It's just turboracism microwaving the brain so much that something as inane as "hearing a Spanish song" makes the Klan meter jump to 100.

So much societal rot in the U.S. can be attributed to how much this country encourages acting as much like a 7 month old as possible. You are owed a mommy to take care of you all the time. You are owed more attention than everything else. You are the specialist little baby in the universe forever.
jennygeist.bsky.social
I shouldn't even be surprised at this anymore but the reaction to Bad Bunny doing the halftime show is just further proof that the psyche of the average American never progressed past 7 months old. "I cannot enjoy even the suggestion of the unfamiliar existing. Waa waa I want binkie and breast."

The Oscars should introduce a rotating oddly-specific category that changes every year to highlight extremely specific things that a movie does very well. This year I suggest the category "Best Use of a Hilly Road in a Motion Picture" to of course go to One Battle After Another.

I completely agree and yet I would be shocked if any Democratic candidate suggests so much as defunding ICE, nonetheless dismantling it and placing every single ICE agent on trial.
juliusgoat.bsky.social
I suspect a party platform of 1) turning back every Trump action and policy, 2) arresting every employee of ICE for involvement in or abetting of crimes against humanity, would do very well.

Me when I am learning new information and formatting it into a thesis and inserting fun little jokes: 😍
Me when I am staring at an editing timeline trying to find matching visuals for every single second despite the fact that most people will probably just listen to the video instead: 🫩

The upside to having a day job and treating YouTube as a fun hobby is that I'm much less burnt out when it comes to researching/writing. The downside is that I only have 7 minutes left to edit in this video but I've been putting it off for a week because editing burns me out no matter the length.

I did however watch the Simpsons Season 37 premiere today as well and thought it was very charming so I am still of the very niche opinion that "Hulu-era Futurama is the first time that the ongoing seasons of the Simpsons are better than the currently-going run of Futurama."
jennygeist.bsky.social
…damn, the last few episodes of the season really picked up. The truffles episode is way better than I thought it would be (Bender and the talking baby pig had a really endearing dynamic) and the finale was just a damn creative sci-fi concept. These felt like high-tier Comedy Central episodes.

Complaining about cancel culture in Riyadh is one of the best examples I've seen of how "free speech culture" rots the brain.

Former racecar driver Danica Patrick slams Bad Bunny as the Super Bowl 2026 halftime headliner:

“No songs in English should not be allowed at one of America’s highest rated television events of the year… not just for sports.”

I need the NS2 update to Stardew Valley ASAP. I don't understand how this 2D farming game struggles to run 2-player co-op but the crashes are so damn infuriating. 😭
