Climate change is already damaging the nature, beauty and heritage we care for. Without deep and sustained cuts to emissions, nature faces an even more perilous future and the places people love will continue to suffer.

"You should never overestimate the extent to which the BBC changed this country by giving endless airtime to Nigel Farage, other far right extremists and the Tufton Street junktanks, while shutting out progressive voices."

35 years ago today this happened. I’d grown up in the belief it could never happen, but then it did. It’s not been easy and even now reunification is an ongoing process. However, it makes me wonder what good things may be just around the corner that we currently think are impossible.

Some good news.

London is meeting legal limits for toxic NO2 pollution for the first time – almost 200 years earlier than predicted – following the Mayor’s "world leading air pollution policies," City Hall announces.

The Ultra Low Emissions Zone - and similar policies - really do work.

Infusing diversity into a country makes for a richer society on many levels. Regrettably here in the US that knowledge has been ruthlessly discarded by the current administration & far too many Americans. Hopefully the UK will not follow the same narrow minded exclusive path that the US is now on.

The government wants to limit international student numbers.

Yet only 1% of the public think reducing them should be a priority.

Nathan Gill is no fringe politician.

He was the leader of the Reform Party and before that UKIP in Wales.

A Brexit Party MEP.

A friend and ally of Nigel Farage, who in 2016 called him:

"terrific," and "as honest as the day is long."

This is a MASSIVE story

Imagine being told you don’t belong in the country you’ve built your life in -- one party's recently-floated policy.

We desperately need stronger international ties.

Exchanges like Erasmus and Turing show how powerful cultural connection can be.

The UK's environmental laws are not matching the EU's.

Our precious habitats and species are at risk.

It also risks our trade agreement with the EU:
