I used to teach The Hunger Games and ask my students if they thought we could become like Panem, and they’d say “Ms. Ryg, wouldn’t we have to have a war with Canada for that to happen? That seems pretty ridiculous.” Fuck Trump for fast tracking us towards becoming a dystopia.

Just unsubscribed to the Washington Post. This is a sad day for democracy. The news source that was responsible for breaking the Watergate scandal- doing the hard, dangerous work of investigative journalism is now a biased tool for the oligarchy.

It’s funny. I have been so consumed with worry about ICE showing up in my classroom and taking my students that I have completely forgotten to worry about an active shooter. Wow, thanks Republicans for providing me with a brand new nightmare.
