I don’t speak Thai but judging by the voice acting I think this lady is listening to a spice book without headphones.

One of those things is a sin.

It’s not the book.

After being with family in a city that never sleeps I realized that “silence is a song I know all the words to” and I miss it when it’s gone to long.

Thank you @shanekoyczan.bsky.social your work helped more than you will ever know during a truly brutal year.

Northern Plains in a nutshell: while working a Christmas event today, two lovely women in their mid to late 60’s were discussing when they were going to go fishing next.

It’s -7F (-22C).

When I say we are a hardy people up here this is what I mean.

If you’re going to live this far north might as well learn to love it.

Trump just called us "the enemy within"

Those are LITERALLY the words Adolf Hitler used to describe Jews in Nazi Germany. Literally the same words.

I know I keep going on about this but

1) yes

2) it has DEEPLY embarrassed the media people who kept trying to pretend that this regime can be treated as legitimate, and

3) we absolutely cannot let them forget it
even for an unhinged presidency this week has been pretty fuckin unhinged tbh

More than 1800 detainees are missing after the closure of Alligator Alcatraz. Their families and lawyers can’t find them and they’ve vanished from the ICE database. Feels like this should be a much bigger story www.miamiherald.com/news/local/i...
Hundreds of Alligator Alcatraz detainees drop off the grid after leaving site
As of the end of August, the whereabouts of two-thirds of more than 1,800 men detained at Alligator Alcatraz during the month of July could not be determined by the Miami Herald.

If listing cases of 2025 US political violence, one would include the Charlie Kirk killing, the Melissa Horman killing (MN state legislator), and the CDC shooting.
The president omitting Horman and CDC, but reaching back 8 years for a non-deadly shooting to cite, conveys approval of those shootings.

The hypersexualization of white women and girls in media, especially after 9/11 was as much a part of the war machine as a product of capitalism.

Whenever America’s position as a military and economic power is threatened, patriarchy, women and girls are simultaneously objectified and vilified.

The endless pursuit of perfection is as glorious as it is frustrating.

First crop of Koji this year, would give it a 7/10. Upshot is I got the Mura in the most balanced state since I started cultivating.

Looking forward to the next crop.

Cultivating Koji again after 10 months is always a nail biter until the stirring of rice the end of day 2. Good strong mycelium growth, and that unique aroma that is vaguely sweet and nutty with a hefty dose of cedar in the back ground from the Mura and trays.

Each year I get a little better at it.

"You can't strike, you're too important" from a judge or government should instantly make you side with the people striking. They're *that* important but they get treated like shit? Nah. Naaaah. Let the government force better conditions.
