On my last viewing I had a change of heart and decided that Orlando is less to blame than Balian's writing/character arc. It's just not that great and I don't think another actor would have made the character significantly more compelling.

The DC is so much better than the theatrical release it's crazy. Ultimately, I think Balian is the weakest character in the script and the DC doesn't really improve him but it does improve a lot of other things (notably Sibylla).

mixed feelings on the final film but this trailer gets me pumped every time. epic non-cg crowd scenes, amazing costumes, beautiful photography, incredible music, eva green, ending on trebuchets... what a trailer.

One of the more incredible stories out of LA this year has been how a taco review blog became the best on-the-ground coverage of ICE raids in the city.

They do a dispatch every day, follow-up on the kidnapped people (which almost no media outlet has done), and fact-check government claims.

I live in Portland and I don’t feel unsafe, there is no war zone here, life is as normal. Protests all exist within a single city block that doesn’t affect me at all. Protestors are all in plainclothes or dumb cosplay, peaceful and unobstructive to anyone other than ICE
