Oh that's cool. It's not quite what I'm looking for, but it's close. (the `to_string` example contains the issue i'm trying to avoid.)

I'm thinking closer to dynamic dispatch functions where you dispatch on the first argument, and can define a type's method impl without modifying the base function.

#ocaml folks, how do you solve the Expression Problem? aka you have a bunch of types and you want to write a new function that operates on those types while allowing the function to be extended as you add new types without modifying the existing function.

they shouldn't have cloned twitter (but worse) as the primary demonstration of the tech if they wanted that. the fundamental design of 1) twitter and 2) bluesky (and arguably atproto) create incentives for bad behavior, such as dunking and engagement farming.
