Recently finished pieces. First is a mounted abalone in silver wire. Second a nugold (I think, it was actually started a while back) ring with a rolled imprint.

Did some harvesting today: southern greens, chives, green beans aplenty, lettuce, perilla (stacked is probably 4+ inches), tomatoes, a squash and potatoes.

Harvest baskets, left one contains chives and southern greens. Right basket contains perilla (probably 4" stacked), green beans, tomato and lettuce. A lone squash next to those and a bucket of potatoes at the end cap.

A backyard garden outlined with cinderblocks, various vegetables within, lined with marigolds in the little squares. Overlooking is Skelly the Skeleton Scarecrow, his personal allotment of strawberries hanging at each hand. Potatoes planted in 5 gallon buckets. Doing surprisingly well it seems. A skull planter hangs from a porch, a small wizard in its cranium while a flowering plant shoots from the center. A warning or welcome to those who walk by, depending on how much they appreciate the weird of life.

Some things old, some things new from the Detroit Festival of Books in Eastern Market. Really should set some ground rules when it comes to being around that many books, I'm already out of space...

Since I can only do 4 per post, enjoy some extras.
Sugar snap peas and two fresh picked cherry tomatoes lie in the hand. What horror the Gardner has wrought by plucking them before they may seed and continue the family tree of these little plants. Elderberry plants, young that they are, line a fence. They plot world domination. Tomato plants in a garden bed begin to fruit.

First Post. Do we call them blusks? Bleets? Anyways, here's a picture of my cat (real name Link, but I call her Meows) and a dog who loves to come visit at the fence line.
