1. 100 Meters

Yeah this really lived up to the hype. A lot of sports movies are about personal drive, but I loved how much this captured that through overcoming personal hurdles than strictly through competition. Dunno where it'll rank exactly among my favorite sports anime but it's up there

I will never forgive the corporate suits at Crunchyroll for passing on giving Tamon's B-Side a dub

Yeah...I can tell I'm probably gonna be one of the outliers among the ANN folks regarding Shiboyugi: Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table, because the premiere didn't quite do it for me. It was a decently entertaining death game thing but the visual aesthetic just came off (1/2)

I came into Yoroi-Shinden Samurai Troopers expecting camp given the original was an early Toonami show I missed, so I was surprised by how edgy and violent this premiere was. Looked really nice but I don't know if I'll bother with more of it

The Darwin Incident seems to be riding a lot on its premise regarding a half-human, half-chimp teen, and while I don't know how I feel about said premise yet, I can't say it didn't grab my attention so I'll probably give it a couple more episodes. Do wish the dub was better

Forgot to include it yesterday, but might as well stay on brand

The Case Book of Arne was pretty good. Feels very mid 00's when it comes to how it mixes supernatural entities with mystery tropes and kinda reminds me of Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok for all 12 people who remember that show. I can get behind that for now

Was kinda hoping that the main character having a disability would make Kunon the Sorceror Can See from the usual Narou slop but nope, still the same kind of boring power fantasy

Journal with Witch on the other hand, I'm pretty sold on. Definently seems like it'll be a slow burn in terms of drama, but I like dynamic between the two leads, and it's kind of refreshing to see a more realistic depiction of a messy adult figure trying to look after a kid

Some more Winter show thoughts: I liked the first two episodes of Hana Kimi well enough that I'll keep watching it but...something about it isn't totally clicking with me? Not even so much all of the inevitable "no homo" on the horizon but more I feel like it hasn't presented Mizuki's crush on Sano

So JJK Modulo is still generally doing a good job of not being overly reliant on the original series but I do think it's very funny Yuta's childhood friend turned cursed spirit is bitter of the grandkids came out looking like Maki, lol

Really great panel work from Shiro Usazaki for Ichi the Witch this week

So I know this is extremely low on the list of greivances with modern Crunchyroll, but I'm looking at this description of Jujutsu Kaisen on their home page, and it reads like someone just pulled the first paragraph of a Wikipedia page

Man I know these "WHY EvERyBODY beTRAY mE?!!" kicked out the guild shows always operate on a contrived premise but Jack-Of-All-Trades might take the cake

Like seriously why would you EVER get rid of the guy in your party who can do everything?

Sentenced to Be a Hero was a lot more interesting than I thought it would be. It's certainly edgy, but it seems to be the fun kind of edgy, and it looks pretty gorgeous. Did kinda spend a good chunk of the premiere hoping the whiny pink haired twink would get killed off screen though

Tamon's B-Side really came out swinging for the comedy crown this season, and it's probably the most I've laughed at a rom-com in quite a while. Sure would be nice if @crunchyroll.com considers going back to dub it. Seems like it'd be a waste not to
