Want more babies? Maybe try giving parents a living wage; affordable and accessible housing, food, healthcare, daycare and transportation; safe and decent schools; and the promise of a healthy and sustainable future for the planet.
this is true and *also* pairing a concern about an "aging labor force" with a desire to deport every immigrant makes it 100% clear this is a white birthrate anxiety thing. this is about white babies
So many things about this are gross ("Last month, Mr. Trump pledged to be 'the fertilization president'" wow no thank you) but I think it's very telling that no one seems to be suggesting obvious ideas like PAID PARENTAL LEAVE or SUPPORT FOR CHILDCARE. (1/n)

The Administration's attempt to shutter USAID is unconstitutional. The clumsy process is wreaking unmeasurable and irrevocable havoc and waste. The consequences will be suffering abroad, distrust among allies and deeply compromised national security.
