If only Congress did its job...

The Senate passed a resolution on stopping further invasion of Venezuela.

They can pass a resolution to hold back on Greenland, and even if it were something that Trump could veto, it would clearly show he doesn't have enough support for an act of war.

Faster and cheaper implementation of customized treatment of cancer and genetic conditions.

Anyway, I'm sure there's more, but I can't keep up with it all. And yeah, it'll depend on how far science gets set back with the current admin.

More AI used to speed up diagnosis of harder cases and read lab results - already AI is being used to scan Xrays

Regrowth/repair of tooth enamel - already gel exists for enamel repair. There have been past studies of injecting stem cells into teeth for repair but unavailable as treatment

3d organ printing advances - harvest patient's own cells to create fully functional, immunologically compatible organs

Drugs/vaccines to reduce dementia/Alzheimers (Shingrix already shown to be 20% effective at reducing dementia); some of the promising Alzheimer mice results need human trials

Given the Trump Admin cuts to science, it's harder to say, but maybe

Eye drops for cataracts: right now it works for dogs, but human trials need to be done

Reduce/eliminate need for dialysis - some improvements seen from stem cell research; implantable systems; progress in reducing diabetes helps

Right now, Trump is deeply unpopular with most of America, although he still has a strong hold on the Republican party. CNN's Harry Enten pointed out that, post-Venezuela invasion+kidnapping, Trump has an 85% hold on the GOP

The fraying of his coalition will free GOP primary candidates to speak out

So Heather Cox Richardson was talking about this in her Politics Chat video (I think)...

Suburban mothers are a key demographic for Trump. The more these mothers can identify with the victim, the more likely they are to increasingly break away from supporting Trump policies.

It's better if the state prosecutes, so Trump can't pardon them... and hopefully the governor won't pardon them either.

Nonviolent vs violent movements
- nonviolence attract 4x participation
- nonviolence improves likelihood that next government is more democratic

The rule is documented in Wikipedia:

Rachel Maddow has brought this up in a past show
- nonviolent protest works at regime change
- based on work by Harvard professor Erica Chenoweth
- goal is to get 3.5% national participation

I'm speculating...

If the FBI fails to gather evidence, that failure should be made public as well as an indicator of Bondi's DOJ's incompetence and yes, deep state cover-up.
January 9, 2026 at 7:44 PM
I'm not a lawyer, but I would think there might be a path to getting that evidence released so the state has access. There's no statute of limitations on murder. Although the FBI might not collect any evidence at all or make it as difficult to get as the Epstein files...

Since the FBI seems to be withholding evidence from Minnesota investigators, this video would be useful in showing the shooter's state of mind in a state trial.

Also, as a federal agency, I'm guessing Congress could subpoena FBI evidence for hearings? If the GOP stops it, then after the midterms.

So... in moving the feature to the premium service, Grok is basically selling AI generated porn.

I'm guessing X would capture details such as who uses the service *and* generates images, which could make anyone who uses it to simulate naked children traceable by the UK...and other governments.

They also demonstrated that nonviolent movements tended to precede the development of more democratic regimes than did violent movements
January 8, 2026 at 9:49 PM
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3.5%25_...

They found that nonviolent movements attracted four times as many participants as violent movements, on average, meaning that 20 of the 25 largest movements they studied were nonviolent.[6]

Public sentiment is extremely powerful, especially when fueled by non-violent protest.

Stephen Miller would love to invoke the insurrection act. It's a lot harder if the internet is flooded with images that emphasize the non-violence.
January 8, 2026 at 9:27 PM
I watched a video earlier where a woman, holding a sign with both hands high above her head, got officers to back off

Then there were Oregon's inflated frog protesters..

Yes, the admin will make up pretexts, but the images of non-violent protesters are just as important at winning public sentiment
January 8, 2026 at 9:27 PM
And yes, I'm *venting*
- will this turn into a "Kavanaugh knock"
- similar to the "Kavanaugh stop"
- with a "Kavanaugh footnote" for deniability

SCOTUS needs to do more than count on the good intentions of ICE agents. Make *decisions*, not footnotes, that provide guardrails for the bad intentions.
