* in general, representatives get few calls
* 20-30 calls could get them to do something

Don't necessarily need a lot of people. Just need enough people willing to do the work.
I recently reposted a former congressional staffer who said that when an issue got 20-30 calls it would get representatives freaked out and ready to do something. It takes less than you’d think, because so few people actually take that kind of action

I am haunted by the ghosts of Iraq and Afghanistan. Those military operations initially went flawlessly but the problem was in trillions of $ spent, thousands of American lives, decades of lost opportunity. Americans have zero appetite for more nation building, endless quagmires.

This was never about drugs. It was never even about democracy. It was about installing a puppet—Maduro’s own VP—to serve U.S. oil interests. How on brand for Trump to ignore the election results and the will of the people of the country.

"The 2025 reconciliation law is estimated to reduce federal Medicaid spending by $911 billion (roughly 14%) over a decade and may have broad implications for home care, including for the workforce, support for family caregivers, and states’ coverage of services."

Did you know Medicaid – not Medicare – is the primary payer of home care for older adults and people with disabilities?

Nixon insisted the bombing of Cambodia was just targeting Viet Cong outposts there and not meant to undermine its government, but the bombings destabilized the Lon Nol government and paved the way for the Khmer Rouge’s killing fields and the massacre of more than a million people.
NBC's sources said that "the potential mission in Mexico is not designed to undermine the Mexican government." But that's what it will do if the US is doing CIA drone strikes on Mexican soil over the objections of the president.

The interactive routing tool was used in SFUSD.

I'm curious about the interactive tool that solved a complex logistical problem allowing interaction that created more stakeholder buy-in. Could the framework be applied to other scenarios that require delivery of services...
Giving students more time to sleep often starts with how buses run.

An interactive routing tool helped one district rethink its schedule by redesigning routes, making later start times possible while also lowering transportation costs and improving coordination across schools. #Yale

Yale SOM operations scholar Zhen Lian and her co-authors created an interactive tool that helped San Francisco reach consensus on school schedules, move start times later, and save millions of dollars in transportation costs.
