I'm an unenrolled progressive on the actual left. | Mostly I listen to rock from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. But I like most music, | I'm a gun owner. | I have a dog named Toast! | AuDHD | Home of the best lobsters in the world!
Oh shit. I meant to put that in the post. Dammit.

I don't need to learn how to fly a helicopter to say you're doing it wrong if you're in a tree. I don't need to work at Dollar Tree to read about the nutritional facts of what the sell or how these types of stores are negatively impacting specifically low income people. They're predators.

I didn't trash a fucking single person. I said the food there is shit and bad for America.

Don't put shit in my mouth.

Don't get me started. Go to a local and healthy grocery store and/or farm stand Not everyone has that choice because of places like Walmart.

We're not a healthy country and this stuff is a part of it. I live in a town with about 25k ppl but we have have 4 of these types of stores in the poor area.

For a lot of people, these places are their grocery stores.

If you were just swinging by for a can of beans or something, that's great!

BTW, I'm not arguing with you about this. You sound informed and I'm just laying out my thoughts. I worried that maybe you would take my response as anger or something. Sorry. 😁

...are great and even offer fresh produce and other nutritional foods but that is not even close to being the norm.
December 9, 2025 at 6:10 PM
I get that but as a monolithic addition to every low income neighborhood in the nation, they are bad for us. Most people who shop there buy the shitty food and eat a lot of it. You can't look at it as lower prices when the person is buying ten boxes of Dollar Store cookies.

*Some* Dollar Trees...

It's really both. Combined they ensure that she was bullied by racists from the time she got to school, until she put social media away at bedtime. Day after day, year after year. Even without these issues I was angry that she had been given access to those places, at far too young of an age.

They are not the ones encouraging the children in her class to be hateful toward her on social media forums. This ban is silly anyway because ten more sites will pop up in a month.

Yes, it needs to be more regulated along with technobros.

Those are "less-than-lethal" balls. Pepper balls were not meant to be shot at a person from point-blank range, and this is about the best way to kill someone with a less-than-lethal device.

Ever seen a person shot at point-blank range with a paintball gun? This is the same thing I imagine.

MAGA is already imploding over Epstein's files and when Trump is gone, they'll go back to post-tea party shit. When he passes away, everything will fall apart and old school Republicans will start rebuilding trust.

His support among 18-29 y/os has absolutely cratered to -46 approval.

A House member need serve only five years to earn their pension. She earns her pension on Jan 5th and that happens to be her last day before she quits.

You can look it up if you don't believe me or AOC.

Cheers. ✌️

I bought a use Ford F-150 in 2000 for $7k and drove it for 20 years and finally junked it when the repair costs were getting to be more than a car payment. Still, that took 20 years and I've never had a problem finding a cheap mechanic.

Same to you. ✌️

Once upon a time I think I would have cared very much about the quicker charging time (I don't have an EV) but I live in Maine and even here there are charging stations at so many places that I go to and there always seems to be an open space. (I would have a station at my house too though.)

It's a complicated car that my mechanic would have no idea how to fix. It's like buying a foreign car and having to drive a few towns over to find a mechanic for those cars. I imagine making a used Tesla like new again is expensive.

My 20 y/o F-150 is cheap to maintain and easy to find a garage. 🤷‍♂️

She didn't resign days after her pension kicked in and then quit in 2020.
December 9, 2025 at 3:26 PM
She lives in a district that is like 90% registered Republicans. She would have to move for any liberals to give a shit about her. She probably realized she wasn't going to win her primary. Which, is the real race there. Once the Republican has been chosen, the race is over.

When was the last time a Democratic House Member quit because Democrats were threatening their life? 😆
