Could the BBC call Jack Smith as an expert witness?

The BBC should focus on defence through accurate reporting.

The more they present of what Trump said previously,

and the more Trump talks now

(for example about the BBC using AI to insert words)

the more Trump will defend the BBC case for them.

Let him talk.

A lot of people should be returning to previous positions on the basis of Trump's official Rob Reiner comments.

This suit is challenging for the BBC

but it's also a great opportunity

to demonstrate the BBC still can present worldwide corporate, legal, and journalistic weight

with large potential revenue to be gained from the (free!) advertising of running this story in great detail on all BBC platforms

Michael Prescott’s report edits Trump’s quote *at least* as badly as Panorama did (I’d argue worse). And that misleading edit is now very obviously at the core of a $5 billion lawsuit against the corporation.

The Panorama had been online, without complaint, for a year before that dossier.

Pete, have you never watched Derren Brown?

Of course I immediately looked it up the moment you told me not to.

Saying "don't do it" is not [a] prophylactic.

“Trump says he could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody but legal experts say that would be murder.”

Thank you - this is the clearest analysis I've read so far.
