In April 1944 she was deported to #Auschwitz with her mother Victoria and younger sister Odette. They were murdered in a gas chamber.

She was deported to #Auschwitz from #Theresienstadt ghetto on 26 January 1943. She was murdered in a gas chamber after the arrival selection.

At one point during the hearing, the judge asked the prosecution why the case can’t be tried before mid-December.

Lemons replied: We are “just getting our hands around” discovery in the case.

There’s lots of it, he added, and it includes a “significant” amount of classified information.

8 October 1942 | SS-Brigadeführer August Frank from WVHA wrote to Reichsführer SS Heinrich Himmler that the Office of Medical Affairs and Camp Hygiene had so far collected 50 kilograms of gold from the teeth of deceased prisoners for dental purposes of the SS. This supply would last for five years.

For #WaterfallWednesday, I've got Goðafoss, one the premier #Iceland waterfalls. You'll find a lot of photos of it, partially for its beauty and partially for its ease of access.

This is Goðafoss which means "Waterfall of the Gods". It is a wide, horseshoe-shaped waterfall in northern Iceland. It isn't very tall 12m/39ft but it is very pretty. It is on Skjálfandafljót river.

ALT - This photo is the top quarter to third of a very tall waterfall. The water makes an initial drop and then hits a ledge that causes it to appear to leap into the air before continuing the rest of the drop. I was focusing on that tremendous splash. But I didn't pay enough attention to how much I had polarized the shot. The sky which was a deep sky blue came out closer to navy blue. I liked the shot though so I decided to see what it looked like as a black and white, and you are seeing the result.
