The things I have to say about this would get me in trouble as I live in the UK and all so we'll just have to imagine how I feel about people who are comfortable with this being their logo.
Ukip have submitted a new logo and slogan to the Electoral Commission, swapping the £ pound sterling symbol for a cross, that looks very much like it is modelled on the Iron Cross used by Prussia & Germany 1871-1918 and Hitler's Nazi regime from 1933-45

Thank you so much! Nail down what you want from your piece before you look for references. If you look for refs first your imagination is getting constrained by what you can find instead of what you really want to draw.
