I wish the Pirates strove to be more than a “hey these sneaky little guys might be able to nab the third wild card” team but hey, they’re sort of going for it!

If you’ve watched John Harbaugh act like a human Facebook comment and choke away 4th quarter leads for an extended period of time you may be entitled to a cash settlement

The pitch usage chart is pretty funny

I wonder if a sweeper would help him out; his curveball is heavy on the vertical break and the rest of his stuff moves arm-side

Murakami has given me “Joey Gallo without the defense” vibes but 2/34 is crazy lol

Duke could’ve done *this*
James Madison's punter kicks it into his own player and Oregon ends up with a scoop n' score.

Would be surprised to see Elias shell out $10-15 million on a backend starter with Kremer/Wells/Povich/Young already in the fold and Gibson/German in AAA. I’d imagine Framber or Imai is the move if they go the free agent route.

My new goal is to create a proprietary statistic that judges the value of soft tossing pitchers called CRAFT+

Maybe I’m just looking through rose-tinted lenses right now but I don’t think Baz and Grayson Rodriguez are the 1 to 1 comparison some are suggesting

Was super intrigued by Slater de Brun and wanted to see what he could become, but I’m not gonna argue with three years of Shane Baz

Michael King at a $25m AAV is not a risk I would’ve been willing to take, personally

Still captaining the “fill the bullpen with stuff gods” ship so Pete Fairbanks would be one of the few remaining free agent relievers I’d want.

Nick Martinez would be dope as a swingman, but I would assume he wants to remain a starter.
Here’s where the bullpen stands, with Suarez and some of the starter prospects as depth. What changes would you like to see by opening day?

I mean shit…even if 2025 Cowser is what you’re getting during these years, it’d be far from a bad contract. His defense alone would cover a decent amount of that.
Colton Cowser

Lawrence Butler: 7 years 65.5 million
Michael Harris: 8 years 72 million

This and the bastardization of checkmarks and verified accounts that gave oxygen to Centel, Dov Kleiman, and any other person who wanted to pretend to break news of any kind
I left Twitter when every other post was an ad with a million views from a company founded earlier that day selling like trucker caps guaranteed to not smell bad. wasn't even the other users, really, it was that it was a site that felt like posting in the People Also Viewed section of an Amazon page

Kind of annoying that the Orioles spent years and resources basically building their data infrastructure from the ground up only for this to happen

Pete Alonso touring Camden Yards yesterday

Mets fans probably, understandably don’t want to hear it but I kind of like the Jorge Polanco signing. Increased his bat speed, hit the ball harder, and whiffed roughly 5% less frequently than in ‘24. Thought his April was smoke and mirrors but he rebounded quite nicely from July onward.

Immigrant Song rules, I’m okay with this
Good stuff up and down. Click and read and subscribe and all that.

Below is one bit of analysis on where Pete is now. He made some adjustments last year that I think will help him excel at the plate in the short-term. I'm bullish about that. TBD is whether you get 1-2 good years or 3-4.

If Nick Martinez is willing to transition back into a 100-120 inning long reliever/swingman, I would be highly interested. He got crushed the 2nd and 3rd time through the order last year and doesn’t miss many bats, but he’s a weak contact machine.
