When I told one LAPD supervisor that they were arresting press, they didn't believe me. When I talked to another, they made it clear that they weren't going to listen to me, follow their own policy, follow the law, or care. When I asked to speak to the incident commander, I was told they were busy.

This is an obvious point, but cannot overstated. There is an enormous difference between deporting someone - where they get off a plane as a free citizen in their home country AND FUNNELING THEM INTO A BRUTAL PRISON FROM WHICH THEY HAVE NO CHANCE OF EVER EMERGING!!!

There is nothing good that can come from this. It's not clear if this is just Maine, nationwide, or if Maine is a pilot for the change, but what this means is that being poor and being rural will mean it's very difficult to get a SS# for your baby and that means no Medicaid.

An FDA vaccine advisory committee meeting scheduled for March to select the strains to be included in next season's flu shot has been canceled, according to a panel member. Officials did not offer an explanation for the scrapped meeting.
