I had a wonderful opportunity recently to share a poem with Shrewsbury-based sound artist Chris Renshaw, who has made a marvellous soundscape around it. Here's 'Real at Last' (about adventuring by bicycle with a woman friend back when we were 20). Thank you!

A whole summer's workshop days are over, and we held a wonderful Celebration event for the Hey! Earthlings! project, along with lots of people who'd participated, plus supportive audience. PLEASE DO come and visit the Hey! Earthlings! Cabinet in Shrewsbury Library until the end of October.

I mean yes this is funny, but the fact that these unconstitutional stormtroopers are so directionless that they literally stand around waiting for random nonwhite delivery guys to bike past them is just pathetic. No mandate, no mission, no clue. Just racism.

It needed to be scored.

Millennials face post-work poverty if they remain renters.

On retirement income shrinks. State pension is inadequate. Low wages - millions can't save for private pension or buy a home. Rents keep on rising.

Need social housing, rent controls, state pension aligned with living wage.

Today’s working age population face a ticking timebomb as they approach middle age and beyond without getting on the housing ladder

This summer I've been working, alongside a fantastic team of artists and community workers, with people who've come to Shropshire as refugees, asylum seekers and just those in search of a better life for their families. I wrote this a few weeks ago. It seems best to just share it.

I'm still exploring the excellent Dream Catcher 51, full of colour and poetry. Well written reviews too. Thank you editor Hannah Stone for including two poems of mine also.
