Who I am is not what I am, but what I love.
Great art elevates the discourse about itself.

Pluribus has bottom-of-the-barrel discourse.

Pluribus is not great art.

If Stefanski is gonna coach that scared at 3-12 there is absolutely no way in hell you can trust him with a better tram.
December 28, 2025 at 8:51 PM
Why would the 3-12 Browns play so conservatively there? It’s insane how scared football coaches are of risk.

all of which they wouldn't even have thought about except that they read it on their iPhones

IDK about her politics but Bari Weiss is pretty hot for a 60 year old

if only there had been some way to foresee that Group of 5 teams don't belong in the CFP

Bugonia and Eddington both suffer from thinking our time is *inherently* interesting. Eddington especially so.

The NFL now has more field goals scored in the last minute of close games than the NBA.

What a fun game until the last 30 seconds, when the rules of basketball ruined the game

Did you know Thunder/Spurs is a great game? Don't worry, one of the announcers will remind you within 5 seconds

Time to get yelled at by all the national commentators for a month for observing that Ryan Day once again coached a game like his penis traveled at light speed into his body to create a super vagina
December 7, 2025 at 4:08 AM
Ryan Day does it again man
December 7, 2025 at 4:03 AM
Ohio State getting thoroughly outcoached. Patricia just dropped two LBs back into coverage of nobody. Day can’t figure out how to stop the right side pass rush.

This is what college football should do, using the B1G as an example:

18 teams. Two 9-team divisions, one upper, one lower, originally slotted by past performance over X years, whatever.

Michigan players standing around praying Ohio State tries to do the same dumb shit Michigan did last year. Only we’re not dumb shits.

Fox graphic showing Ryan Day wrecking Iowa…if only Ohio State had played them

It’s amazing how often in this supposedly civilized country someone has to choose between waiting for some guy to harm them or their girlfriend and watch law enforcement do nothing, or else preemptively fuck the guy up and have the whole weight of the law come down on them.

There is no end to how many times the Spotify DJ will play a block of "what's tearing up the charts," no matter how many times I skip it all.

Problem with algorithms is they don't give us what we want, they give us the minimum of what we want that still makes us think we're getting what we want.

I'm trying to imagine the next time Dems are going to win a presidential election.

So many of us who have always voted Democrat have been banned from so many online spaces for not being left enough, when those people banning us aren't voting Dem anyway.

What's the fucking point?

We used to be in the phase where the nerds won, and it was fraught with bad decisions and pursuit of society-destroying tech.

Now we're in the phase where the losers have won. Important distinction. Much worse.

And similarly, claims are considered true or false based on how well they fit into the medium.

E.g.,everything has only one cause and only one effect because that’s what’s easy to post and easy to read.
It’s this nightmarish epistemological mechanism where truth and falsehood are adjudicated almost entirely on the basis of whether or not a claim is pleasing to the audience. It’s awful for understanding the world but our entire politics is now built on it.
