And I'm impressed on another count - that was back when (1) most people still thought of him as being mostly a liberal or even a leftist and (2) he had fallen into temporary obscurity (I think this was pre-"Apprentice") so I don't think I even thought about him at the time.

Of the titles I know, the presence of "A Wrinkle in Time" is most perplexing to me. What did it get banned for? I happen to know L'Engle was a devout Episcopalian (I've read one of her religious books), so I don't get it.

I'm old enough, by the way, to remember back in the 1970's when a similar explosion in coffee prices took place, though I don't think tariffs were involved then. People were VERY unhappy.
