For sure. The thing that really worked well for me was calf stretches and working that glute medius. Mine was so weak that my IT band was in regular pain and all I had to do was balance it out. (sickle foot helped, which is just fancy leg lifts for TKD nerds)

The result is a lot of me saying, "hey, sorry I said that stupid thing. Here's why I said it. You deserve a better parent than I got. here's what I should have said instead and I'm going to try to say that next time".

And that's awkward and humiliating and sucks. But it's also important.

This comes up in therapy so fucking always. The fact is, if I open my mouth and don't know what i was going to say to my kids, what comes out is some shit my mom would say.

Because that's what's in my bones. And I don't have any healthy examples in there. I'm having to make that up as I go.
