My guess here is that rising homophobia among Gen Z is part of the flattening of the divide between urban and rural areas. Blue counties and cities are going to stay uniformly accepting, while red counties will continue becoming less and less safe for anyone who isn't a straight white person.

I’ve seen a lot going around about these cells reserved for US citizens, and it’s worth reminding people that ICE officers (and immigration officers in general) do in fact have legal authority to arrest US citizens for any felonies or “offenses against the United States” witnessed by an officer.
