Absolutely agree. I teach a history adult ed class. Oldest student is 86, average 70yo. Mostly all have degrees already, many scientists, former GPs who always liked the idea of a hums degree. Just finished Russian rev. No one skips a session. They *all* do *all* the reading. It’s brilliant.

Hannah More (key activist partner of WW) had great deal of wealth/status/social mobility and influence herself but didn’t advocate it for others. She did receive a lot of abuse by men of all classes for her female ‘interference’. Henry Hunt hated her and called her ‘that old bishop in petticoats’.
