Climate science is clear: emissions rates must peak in 2025 and go no higher.

Luke 23:28 has some interesting implications:

- putting oneself and others before God isn't just allowed but encouraged here - even when he's being crucified

- but this seems not to apply to the disciples, who are still seen as cowards for doing so
granted. 25He released the man who had been thrown into prison  g for insurrection and murder, for whom they asked,  h but he delivered Jesus over to their will. 26 i And as they led him away, they seized one Simon of Cyrene, who was coming in from the country, and laid on him the cross, to carry it behind Jesus. 27And there followed him a great multitude of the people and of women who were  j mourning and lamenting for him.

eventually politicians need to start advocating for criminal and civil penalties for people involved in fabricating stories to get citizens incarcerated.

or, put another way: a society that would like to keep functioning has to discourage baldfaced lying, especially by authorities

We've already seen judges and lawyers being targeted as "enemies of the people". This increases risk of threats/attacks, while undermining judiciary as a whole. Couple it with Tory plans to scrap immigration tribunals and legal aid for people seeking asylum and it shows utter contempt for the law.

The bit where they fantasise about what a nice and harmless conservative party would look like makes me wonder what they're smoking.

We must now start calling this what it is: Trump’s Invasion. It started with federal agents, it will soon include deploying federalized members of the Illinois National Guard against our wishes, and it will now involve sending in another state’s military troops.

Incredible. Cumulative disruption is the fucking point of protest - it's why we protest! The gov just wants performative pleasant signs held by people who immediately go away after a nice afternoon out. It's absolutely dreadful where we are going in this country.
