I regret my error - I should've caught that calculation error before republishing it. This is entirely on me.

In sum, my reporting of Nann's statement was accurate.

However, Nann's statement itself was inaccurate --- she published what she planned to do in closed session, but had not actually moved the motions she stated she had.

I've asked a few of my national journalism colleagues for advice on this.

Council members were not aware the City paid for the tickets. They were adviced by senior staff they could accept, attend, and distribute tickets.
Councillors acted in good faith. It is appropriate to note how the Code of Conduct was not followed and advise on to ensure compliance in future.

Many of the grants are deductions from future tax increases following improvements.

I am watching to see what specific property transaction this actually involves. Maybe a developer who needs the future tax grant for the lessee who is about to use the property
