It definitely feels outdated. When I first started submitting, I always thought I wouldn't get past the slushpile b/c I didn't have an mfa or major journals in my bio. Now, it feels more like an imdb page: "Yeah, I am the same guy who wrote this other thing and who lives in this city/state."

So far at least, Americans are lukewarm about AI summaries in search results. Relatively few who have seen them think they're extremely or very useful (20%) or have a lot of trust in the information they get from them (6%). New data from @pewresearch.org: www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/...
Bar chart showing that 20% of Americans who have seen AI summaries in search results believe these summaries are extremely or very useful. Far more (52%) see them as somewhat useful, while 28% see them as not too or not at all useful. The chart is based on an August 2025 Pew Research Center survey of U.S. adults. Sarah is hiking up ahead of me, so she’s the first to see it. She goes around the bend, says “Hey now,” and stops in her tracks. Then I see it, too. Right there in the middle of the trail is a sing…

I started doing this jokingly but I think it's actually helping me with some writer's block on a current draft.

I'm ashamed to admit this, but the amount I like or dislike the font does in fact impact how much I like the story.
