Definitely worth reading.
I thoroughly recommend reading all of Cory Doctorow's recent speech on AI skepticism, it's crammed with new arguments and interesting new ways of thinking about these problems pluralistic.net/2025/12/05/p...

Historian here OTD a day that will live in infamy we need to point out that the reconstruction of Japan and Germany proved to be successful after WWII but the Reconstruction of the misbegotten Confederacy was brutally overthrown. We still live with the legacy of that history in the United States.

There’s a reason he pulled Optimus out his buttocks just as growth at Tesla went to zero, and there a reason why he’s forcing the “robotaxi” pump out now.
Yes SpaceX needs the cash, but I think the IPO news is awful for Tesla. In part because it will bleed off some of the moron shareholders over to SpaceX, but more for the signalling value. I think 2026 could be a total shitshow for $TSLA and he needs a liferaft.

At that point, what would be the correct protocol for surrender? Would they need to get back into the water?
WELKER: Lawmakers say the 2 men appeared to raise their arms potentially to surrender. Why did Admiral Bradley interpret these actions as anything other than them trying to survive?

TOM COTTON: They were sitting or standing on top of a capsized boat. They weren't floating helplessly in the water

"I wasn't aware of what the President said"

Then why are you on a Sunday news show, representing his Administration? Such claims of ignorance ring completely hollow.
BASH: The president said very clearly this week he doesn't want Somali immigrants in America. He called them 'garbage.' Is that the real reason this operation is happening?

HOMAN: No. I think President Trump is referring to public safety threats & natl security threats

BASH: He didn't say that

A neat thing about birthright citizenship is how it tests whether a person cares at all about the Constitution. There's no argument against it, birthright citizenship is the unambitious text, the obvious intent of the drafters, and the undisputed way it was followed for the past 150+ years.
I continue to think that Matty coming out against birthright citizenship a few months ago should have been taken as a major warning sign that the group chats have already decided to surrender on this.

Don’t fall for Trump’s lies about targeting the “worst of the worst.”

As ICE terrorizes cities to fill up detention centers, remember that some of Trump's major donors are private prison corporations.
