One thing we emphasized back when Sports Illustrated had a copy desk was using “said” in place of “accused” or “alleged.” Like “The woman said So-and-so touched her” instead of “So-and-so allegedly touched her” or “She accused So-and-so of touching her,” both of which cast undue doubt on survivors
