I'd tend to agree w/ your maths. Mid-america here & 1 kid was $1k/mnth daycare. Car loan & insurance could easily be $1k/mnth. So easily $24k just on those. That daycare cost was also a decade ago, so no clue what it is now.

Same, honestly. I got offered a job at DST technically "first" but turned it down waiting for the offer from Aquila that came the day after I accepted another job. Turns out Aquila would go under w/in 6 months, so dodged that bullet. Liking this one & it was kinda just luck.
