I have some bad news for engineers: IT professionals would have needed to cheat off of your homework to get your degree if they even pursued one in the first place. Also, your employer has tasked them with deciding what tools you get to do your job.

Being a good boss should be easy: do the opposite of what your previous boss did poorly, do the same things your previous boss did well and do everything you can to give your employees the freedom to do their jobs excellently in as little time as possible so they can do other stuff or go home.

With respect to AI and tech workers: things are either going to become really bad, or really good. Given our free market corporate-overlord roots here in the US, you might want to bet on the prior.
