Bessent: "You know the best way to bring your inflation rate down? Move from a blue state to a red state. Blue state inflation is half a percent higher."

I can’t reach my P drive from home anymore. Google drive disappears from windows explorer when the computer goes to sleep and requires a reboot to get it back. WTF is that?

Apparently President AOC can unilaterally impose a carbon tax day 1.
Fascinating to see the Trump administration argue that the use of state power to extract money from citizens is not taxation if the purpose is to disincentivize some behavior that the government dislikes, rather than to raise revenue. That is not what Republicans used to claim to believe.

This is an exact encapsulation of why I moved to Bluesky.

No amount of handwringing in the Atlantic about how I owe some eternal Promethean suffering to the discourse is going to make me stay on a site I hate, that stopped doing anything for me professionally years ago.

The review invitation had no deadline. I accepted it and the next email says: "Please try your best to complete your review by 03-Oct-2025." So, today is a week later and the tone of the automatic email message has changed.

I won't referee for this journal again.
