A reminder: it doesn't have to be this way.

Mexico has a hell of a lot more to lose than Europe by angering Trump. Yet this is the response of its president just now.

This isn't a global phenomenon. Why have Europeans proven to be so uniquely cowardly over the past year?

I think Asha Rangappa is right — they are lining up the external and internal enemies. Or trying to. This is very risky and will almost certainly blow up in their faces.
I keep saying this but no one is connecting the dots. The war is to satisfy legal preconditions for mass removal *domestically* of Latinos (i.e., suddenly a lot of people are going to be “Venezuelan” for purposes of removal). This is 100% Stephen Miller…oil claim is to make grandpa go along
There is no national security logic that would impel the US to want to do regime change in Venezuela. It's simply not that important. I'm not even sure wag the dog is the right metaphor for what's happening here. Seems like an insane misallocation of US national security assets and attention.

💥Like Donald Trump, Viktor Orbán’s so-called “pro-peace” stance is driven by pure business interests — something he openly admits. He has already sent a large business delegation to Moscow in hopes of future profits. EU leaders heading into this week’s European Council should be aware.

Today, the first-ever Soil Monitoring Law enters into force.

It improves soil health, strengthens food security and enhances resilience to natural disasters.

We are in a bizarre moment of diplomatic history. The purported "peace plan" that appeared a few days ago begins in Russian unreality and American weakness. Demanding everything of Ukraine and nothing of Russia, its purpose is imperialism and profiteering.

would be a good time for the media to do their wave of “elon musk says x” articles but this time actually be honest about the violent far-right movement he’s stoking, especially in light of liberals falling over themselves to placate the extreme right in recent days
Elon Musk spoke by video to Tommy Robinson's anti-immigrant rally in the UK today.

"You're in a fundamental situation here where, whether you choose violence or not, violence is coming to you," said Musk. "You either fight back or you die."

A new Stalin monument in a Moscow metro station is not just historical revisionism — it is a signal. As Putin deepens authoritarian rule and isolates Russia from the West, the glorification of a dictator responsible for mass terror is no coincidence. Nearly 700,000 were executed under Stalin. 1/2

‼️🇭🇺 Democracy is dying in daylight in Hungary: Viktor Orbán’s regime is set to blacklist “foreign-funded” (including EU-funded) NGOs and media, then unleash the tax office to bleed them dry, issue fines and even shut them down.

It’s happening because the EU Commission simply doesn’t give a damn.

His son and Orbán’s son-in-law have also been spotted in Ferraris – the latter in a €600K Ferrari SF Spider.
