Jesus, this is much worse than I even realized at first. Members were being advised to avoid even SILENT protests. Can someone send Hakeem Jeffries a copy of “The Death of Democracy”, please?

When the Nazis introduced the Enabling Act, the SS marched into the chamber of the Kroll Opera House. But the Social Democrats could not be intimated—they all voted no.

When Democrats wanted to loudly protest Trump’s speech to Congress, @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social did the intimidation and said no.

It’s becoming abundantly clear that we need to demand that Democratic leadership is replaced.

Once Al Green was removed, I assumed we would watch others follow his lead. 30 sec to remove each member? Could’ve gone on for hours—or forced the Speaker to remove every Dem at once.

But nope. Silence.
If you're wondering why you haven't seen more organized disruptive action from Democrats at the speech tonight, I've heard from multiple people on Capitol Hill that House Dem leadership actively organized against any strong actions tonight. They are leading, but in the wrong direction.

Once again, I don't know what anyone has seen these last five weeks to believe that the 2028 elections are going to be free, fair, and competitive.
Ladies and gentlemen, a tweet from a senator who—like all other U.S. senators—swore to "bear true faith and allegiance" to the Constitution, and to "support and defend" it.

When a member of Congress gets thrown out of the chamber, @democrats.org decides to get serious…about eggs. And sell some stickers.

Not exactly how I thought fighting fascism would go.
Egg prices are up and Donald Trump doesn’t give a damn.

1 reason @wired.com is leading is b/c they have long understood that tech is the infrastructure of *everything* & as a result is *the* invisible lever of power.

Control the infrastructure & you control everything.

The entire policy establishment (gov, media, academia) is still catching up to this.
I've always liked WIRED. But I did not have on my 2025 notes - WIRED becomes THE source for the most important investigative journalism of our time (with respect for ProPublica and a few others)

SCOOP: Business leaders are paying as much as $5,000,000 to meet one-on-one with President Donald Trump at his Florida compound, sources tell WIRED, while others are paying $1,000,000 apiece to dine with him in a group setting.

Question for @tylerpager.bsky.social: why would you cut the quote short here?

The full quote continues “…I mean there’s—we wanted very much to have only strong relations, and I’m very confident we will have it.”

You removed the context of what he’s sorry about, which distorts the meaning.

It's popular to say in the Opposition that we have to be strategic and pick our fights. I have pretty much the opposite view. Fight for what you care about, some of those fights won't get much support and will fade out, but you don't know ahead of time. And some issues will unexpectedly take off.
