Do you remember the deal @albomp.bsky.social and @australianlabor.bsky.social did with the LNP remnants to establish a # NACC
…and how has that turned out?
Not hard to forecast the effect of a duopoly ‘deal’ on environmental protections (a political oxymoron)

Just so we’re clear: Labor is choosing to work with the worst possible party on environmental issues, instead of the Greens and teals who actually want environmental regulation.
And Watt is already admitting it won’t have a climate trigger …
Watt nears deal with Coalition to finally overhaul environment laws
Environment Minister Murray Watt will sit down with his Liberal counterpart Angie Bell today, with quiet optimism in both parties that a deal might soon be struck to finally rewrite Australia's "broke...

To the NACC: can you tell us why there haven't been any public hearings into the Robodebt matter?

....

....

....

NACC says: No comment.

It has cost $1.138 million and counting for the independent lawyer the NACC has had to hire to fix the mess their Commissioner made of the Robodebt inquiry

Compromised decision making costs public money and trust.

One of the Austs on the flotilla who was taken illegally & held by the Israel Govt - says the Aust Govt did not really support them. They were among the last to be released - & their release & deportation to Jordan was facilitated by other Govts.

What a betrayal 😞😡 #auspol

The fact Wong thinks she can just snark her way out of this is a sign of how normalised the relationships between politicians and lobbyists have become.

Like, of course the PM shouldn't be president of a registered lobby group that sells corporate members access to politicians? No shit??

Independent Senator David Pocock and Labor's Penny Wong clashed in Senate estimates yesterday over whether the Parliamentary Sports Club could be considered a lobby group, as reported in Crikey last week. The club is registered as such, and lists Responsible Wagering Australia as one of its clients.

Looks like the latter.

‘The emails from Optus to the outdated departmental inbox were CC'd to an email from the office of Communications Minister Anika Wells.

… The names have been redacted, but the email has "mo" in the handle, which has been confirmed as standing for "minister's office".’

It’s been more than a year now. Have we managed to find anyone who can translate Hebrew?

‘The key piece of evidence missing is audio from the drone footage of the strike.

"I asked him about that and he said that he was told that it was in Hebrew and it wouldn't be understood," Mr Frankcom said.’

David Pocock asks Don Farrell some serious questions about why the govt has not implemented an important recommendation from the #RobodebtRC.
Farrell caught playing on his phone, not even paying attention.🙄 Pocock hasn’t the patience to try again & moves on. #Estimates

Worth a read for more detail on the #npc cancellation.

www.lamestream.com.au/exclusive-na...
The communications obtained by Lamestream make it clear that Hedges was not only a confirmed speaker at the NPC, contradicting the organisation’s public statement, but that he was dropped because the NPC believed they had booked too many speakers “in favour” of the Palestinian cause.
