On your left. Fan of all the great shows. Progressive Christianity and deconstruction. #goms #gobiz
My favorite Roger Allam role is the narrator on the perfect Sarah and Duck series.

worth talking too about how this impacts candidate recruitment and retention. Can't imagine many suburban moderate small business types are gonna be stoked to run in R+5 seats anymore. who wants to make your family miserable for a year only to get embarrassed in November?

this space has very much reminded me of 2010ish era twitter, when it was slower and quieter in general.

I feel you.

this is the first year I haven't been in church leadership or professional Christian employment and I'm sincerely missing celebrating the liturgies of the season in community.

thank you, @kentremendous.bsky.social for shows about lovely people caring for each other

I'm just joking with Nathan. Jerry's had a decade where he could and should have added talent at any point. There's a chance they already blew the best, cheap years they were going to get from the rotation.

you have to remember we're about 2 years behind the Blue Jays. Gotta wait for the crest to add talent.

woke up and realized I meant creed. confession isn't wrong as something shorter than a catechism, but creed is the word I was looking for.

I've been drawn to thinking some more about a personal confession. you can hang as many citations to it as you like, and it's a robust enough tradition to be meaty, weighty, and meaningful, but can also be as short as it needs to be.

are all you roll people eating hardtack?

I'd ditch the bird before I ditch my soft, fluffy butter pillow.

part of how you address voters I think is endlessly campaigning publicly about wins. Odd example: I think one reason Harrell ran so far ahead of Davison/Nelson is he's very good at claiming victory & holding press conferences. Biden lesson is as you say, voters care less about stats than vibes

My biggest frustration with "The Left" is the failure to be obsessed with winning. Winning on a boring platform written in plain language is infinitely better than losing. Winners make policy, losers write op-eds.

are you going to clean the plate with a slice of ham? gotta have rolls to soak up all that gravy.

since covid we've started Christmas mid November. Having little kids excited for Christmas helps too.

I've always felt like putting my hat in the ring as someone you can hire for the year after your legendary coach retires. I'll come in, be bad, get fired, reset the expectations, and then the next person is setup for success. My buyouts would be very reasonable.

do my top hat and monocle have to go through the scanner or can I keep them on?
