I say “for some reason” because I can’t imagine it mattering at this point? Does it affect his life or the politics of the situation at all if he says “you know what? I don’t believe in God. I think you already knew that. Whatever.”

Like tens of millions of people legitimately believe that the 2020 election was stolen. Okay, fine. But zero people, literally zero, believe “Donald Trump is a religious Christian.” The same way zero people believe “Donald and Melania are deeply in love, in a committed marriage.” But they pretend!
