I've just realised I was woke! In 1985 I was: treasurer of the only ecology party Student's union in the UK & vegetarian, supported War on Want & the NSC (awful coffee) & had to try and keep the peace between Israeli, Palestinian, Turkish & Armenian factions.

Reeves said yesterday "I’m not coming back with more borrowing or more taxes" at the spending review. That implies big cuts relative to demand from April 2026 onwards for unprotected areas of spending like criminal justice and local govt. Expect further falls in performance if that happens
